Performance appraisals mistakes [review]

Internet is not full of useful resources about PMS actually. There are a wider bibliography about performance appraisal interviews. Among them I want to bring an interesting series about our topic. Corporate Canary consultancy shows in YouTube a good summary of ten main mistakes on performance appraisals.

In my opinion these are certainly 10 usual mistakes in appraisals (probably with different importance), one critical part of PMS process:

– Unprepared discussions

– Delaying feedback

– No evidences

– Interruptions

– No improvement plan

– Don´t follow up the improvement plan

– No positive feedback

– Misaligned feedback (rewards or reorientation)

– One way dialog

– Biased feedback
